Frequently Asked Questions – and some you maybe wouldn’t have thought of.

Streamline Your Day, Grow Your Business

Find quick answers to your questions about our virtual assistant services here.

What exactly does a Virtual Assistant (VA) do?

Think of me as your behind the scenes team-mate. I take on the repetitive admin tasks that eat up your time, such as inbox triage, chasing invoices, or replying to social DM’s. This will allow you to focus on growing your business (or just enjoying your evenings again!).

How does a VA help my business?

By outsourcing those time-consuming tasks, you save hours every week. Many of my clients find they can finally focus on growth, customer care and doing the things that bring joy to their business. By handing over these tasks you may also find you regain some of your personal time too.

What are the benefits of working with a VA over taking on an employee?

When you work with me, you get all the benefits of extra support without the stress and cost of hiring a full time employee. Here’s how working with a VA saves your business time & money:

  • No recruitment costs – you don’t need to advertise, interview or invest in training
  • No employee overheads – there is no holiday pay, pensions contributions, or sick leave.
  • Pay only for what you need – from a few hours a week or ongoing support, it’s completely flexible.
  • No equipment or workspace needed – as I work remotely you don’t need to find me a desk, computer or a phone, I have all my own equipment (no tea or coffee fund needed either)!

Can I mix & match your services?

Absolutely—on a retainer. Packages are single-service (Inbox, Bookkeeping, Social), which keeps things simple and predictable. If you’d like a blend of support across different areas, retainers are perfect for that.

What if I only need help now & then?

Then my ad-hoc option is for you! I offer ad hoc support at £34/hour, bookable with at least 48 hours’ notice. This is great for covering holiday gaps, one-off projects, or when you just need a little extra help without committing to a package.

Do unused hours roll over into the next month?

No, hours don’t roll over. This keeps us both accountable—so you get the full value of your plan each month without tasks slipping off the radar.

How do we communicate and share work?

I use tools like email, Zoom and shared cloud platforms (Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) to make working together smooth & simple. I’ll always adapt to what works best with your business.

How do you keep my information safe?

Your privacy & trust mean everything to me. I take data protection very seriously and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which means I follow strict UK data protection laws (GDPR).

Security is non-negotiable. I use LastPass, a password manager for logins, only request the access I actually need, and can sign NDAs if required. Your data stays safe and confidential at all times.

What is the minimum commitment?

Packages run on a rolling monthly basis. Retainers are usually booked in 3-month blocks (so you can really feel the benefits), but we can start with 1 month if you’d like to try things out. I require a 2 month notice period for cancellations of retainer and package services.

Ad Hoc Services need to be booked 48 hours in advance, the minimum is 2 hours per month with a maximum of 4 hours per week.

How quickly can you get started?

Usually within a week. we’ll have a light conversation first to discuss your needs, then I’ll put together a plan so you feel supported right from the start.

I’m not sure what package I need, how do I decide?

No problem! Book a free 15-minute call with me and we’ll chat about where you’re losing the most time. I’ll help you pick the option that makes the biggest difference first. not a fan of a call – I am happy to work with you over emails too.
